so pants surprised me. again. this time he went over the top - he and my good friend malissa secretly schemed for her to fly out here from chicago to surprise me! i was soooo shocked! pants had made up this big ole' story about one of his guy friends having to come stay for a night (he told me that so the house would be clean and i wouldn't freak out about that), but then instead, in walked malissa! i had absolutely no clue, even though he's flown her out here before as a surprise (for my 30th bday, years ago).
anyway, she and i had sooo much fun this weekend - hanging out downtown, scouring world market, and drinking lots of coffee while talking, talking, talking. oh, and now i am officially addicted to pinterest, thanks to her!

hmm...i think the beach life agrees with my sweet friend...

and of course we had to have breakfast outside (in january!) at our very own sugar shack here in downtown hb:
